WS4W Club Calendar
Montrose will be hosting a 4th of July Parade on Sunday, July 4th. Some members of WS4W have expressed an interest in participating. Linnea P will be coordinating this through the club’s Face Book page and group email. Plan to meet club members by the corrals at the County Fairgrounds to decorate your vehicle and line up for the parade. Contact Linnea 970-209-7757 for additional details. The club meets the first Tuesday of every month unless displaced by a holiday.
Lester and Ruth will lead a trip over Cinnamon Pass and into American Basin to check for wildflowers. Trail is rated a 3. Meet at South City Market at 8:30am. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc.
Eddie and Linnea will lead an exploration of 2 trails up on the Uncompahgre Plateau. They have never done these trails before so a trail rating is not available. There also no guarantee of how long they are or their condition – pure exploration!!!! Meet at Old City Market at 9:00 am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water and snacks.
The July Club Dinner will be at Applebee’s Restaurant at 6:00pm. Hope to see you there.
Lester and Ruth will lead Reservation Ridge and Timber Canyon Trail. Both trails are rated a “2”. Will drive back from Duchesne on pavement. Leave both days from the Holiday Inn Express in Price UT at 9:00am. Have lunch, a full tank of gas, snacks, water, etc.
Lester and Ruth will lead Dry Canyon Trail in the Price UT area. Trail is rated a “3”. This trail connects to Nine Mile Canyon, so you could continue on and explore Nine Mile Canyon, if you have never done that before. This trail does get up above 10,000ft at the high point.
Leave from the Holiday Inn Express in Price UT at 9:00am. Have lunch, a full tank of gas, snacks, water, etc.
July Meet and Greet will be at A&W on North Townsend, near the airport. Bring your chairs or plan to be inside but come for some A&W treats and socialize with club members.
Steve W. would like to do the Mineral Creek clean up this Saturday, the 24th. If interested, meet at the Ouray Visitor’s Center at 9:00am with a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc. , trash bag and a rain coat! Steve is planning lunch at the park in Silverton and then home on pavement due to afternoon monsoons in the San Junas.
Rick A. will lead Schofield Pass. Meet at Delta City Market at 9am. This is rated as a “difficult” trail. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc. This run is dependent on trail conditions and /or snow.
